Professional Bio
Sabrina Merlo has a long career in celebrating makers. She currently serves as Local Response Lead at Open Source Medical Supplies, building an international network and community of practice across makers, engineers, manufacturers, local organizers, experts, and institutions around the world working in their regions to meet supply challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Before OSMS, Sabrina spent 10 years at Maker Faire, the internationally recognized festival brand celebrating makers and creative culture. Sabrina produced the flagship events in 2018 and 2019. She also developed the global network of community-driven Maker Faire events that annually reached 220 events in 44 countries reaching over 1.4M people annually. Prior to Maker Faire, Sabrina produced science and tech experiences for NASA and The Exploratorium, and directed brand building campaigns for MOTO Development Group and Code for America.
