ShopBot Tools, Inc.

Organization Overview

ShopBot's Digital Fabrication tools are carving out the future of education, manufacturing, grassroots 'making' and prototyping. ShopBots in educational institutions and Digital Fabrication Labs/Maker Spaces prepare students for a future in STEM, the arts, entrepreneurship and/or the workforce. Whether the design software of choice is graphics-based or engineering-based, ShopBot can machine sheet goods, or take a 3D file and create 3D carvings faster, bigger and in more materials than additive technology. At work in small shops and large manufacturing facilities across the U.S. and around the world, ShopBots are used to create cabinets and furniture, sets for theaters, signs, models and molds, and stealth fighters.

Founded in 1996 in Durham, North Carolina, ShopBot Tools, Inc., designs, manufactures and distributes CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) routers for milling, drilling, cutting, and 3D carving of wood, plastic, metals and other materials -- powerfully, precisely, and affordably.
